Terms of Service

Last updated: May 4, 2026

These Terms govern your use of Real Estate Explained. Each section opens with a plain-English summary so you can actually read it. The detail underneath is what controls. By using the site, downloading the free guide, or enrolling in the course, you agree to these Terms.

1. What this is

In plain English: A real estate education site. A free PDF, a paid 28-day course, and a blog. That's it.

Real Estate Explained ("we," "us," "our") provides educational content about U.S. real estate investing through a website that includes a free PDF guide, a paid 28-day video course, supporting tools (calculators, checklists, templates), and a blog. We refer to all of this collectively as the "Service."

2. Eligibility

In plain English: You must be at least 18 years old to use the site or buy the course.

To use the Service, you must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Your account

In plain English: When you buy the course, we make you an account. Keep your password to yourself.

When you purchase the course, we automatically create an account for you using the email address from your purchase. You will receive a one-time link to set a password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

One purchase, one account. The course license is personal and non-transferable. You may not share your account, sign-in credentials, or course access with anyone else.

4. Payment and access

In plain English: $499, one payment, lifetime access. Prices are in USD and shown at checkout.

The 28-day course is sold for a one-time fee, currently $499 USD. The fee is shown at checkout in U.S. dollars and may include applicable taxes. Payment is processed by our payment partner (currently Lemon Squeezy). By submitting payment, you authorize the charge to your selected payment method.

Once payment is complete and the order is confirmed, all 28 lessons, the toolbox, and the trusted-partners directory become available to your account. Access is provided on a lifetime basis for the same product version, subject to these Terms. Lifetime access means we will not retire your access on a fixed schedule; it does not mean we guarantee the Service will exist forever (see Section 12).

We reserve the right to change pricing for new purchasers at any time. Price changes do not retroactively affect orders that have already been completed.

5. Educational content, not financial or legal advice

In plain English: The course teaches you how real estate investing works. It is not investment, tax, or legal advice for your specific situation.

Real Estate Explained provides educational information about real estate investing concepts, frameworks, and processes. The content is general in nature and does not take into account your specific financial situation, objectives, tax position, or legal circumstances. The Service is not investment advice, tax advice, or legal advice, and we are not acting as your investment advisor, broker, financial planner, attorney, or fiduciary in any capacity.

Real estate investing involves significant risk, including the risk of partial or total loss of capital. Past performance, example scenarios, and case studies presented in the Service are not predictive of future results in any specific deal or market. Before making any real estate investment decision, you should consult qualified, licensed professionals (such as a real estate attorney, a certified public accountant, a licensed real estate broker, and a licensed mortgage lender) about your specific situation.

You acknowledge that any decisions you make based on the Service are your own, and that you bear the full risk and responsibility for the outcomes of those decisions.

6. Your license to the content

In plain English: You can use the course for yourself. You can't share, copy, repost, or sell it.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial, educational purposes.

You may not, and may not permit any third party to:

  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, post, or transmit any portion of the Service except as expressly permitted.
  • Modify, translate, adapt, or create derivative works based on the Service.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of any software portion of the Service.
  • Resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Service or any of its content.
  • Use the Service to create a competing product, course, or educational service.
  • Share your account credentials or grant access to anyone other than yourself.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract content, except as permitted by our robots.txt for legitimate search indexing.
  • Remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.

7. Intellectual property

In plain English: We own the course, the content, the calculators, the brand. You own your notes.

The Service, including all videos, written materials, images, calculators, software, design, the "Real Estate Explained" name and logo, and all other content (collectively, the "Materials"), is owned by Real Estate Explained or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license granted in Section 6, no rights or licenses are granted to you, by implication or otherwise.

You retain ownership of any notes, calculator scenarios, or other content you create within the Service for your own use ("Your Content"). By creating Your Content within the Service, you grant us a limited license to host, store, and display Your Content as needed to operate the Service for you. Your Content is not visible to other users.

8. Prohibited conduct

In plain English: Don't break the law, don't share your login, don't try to take down the site.

You agree that you will not:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or use another person's account.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, the servers or networks connected to the Service, or any other user's use of the Service.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service, accounts, or systems.
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malicious code, or any other harmful material.
  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm any other person.

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you violate these Terms (see Section 12).

9. Third-party services and links

In plain English: We mention partners (lenders, insurers, tax pros). We don't run them. Use at your own judgment.

The Service may include links to third-party websites, products, or services, including in the "Trusted Partners" directory inside the course. We provide these as conveniences and for informational purposes. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party content, products, or services. Your dealings with third parties are solely between you and the third party, and you should review their terms and privacy policies before transacting with them.

We may receive affiliate compensation from some third-party providers. The receipt of compensation does not influence which providers we list. We list providers based on whether we believe they serve a typical Real Estate Explained student well.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

In plain English: The site is provided as-is. We do our best, but we don't promise it'll be perfect, always available, or fit your specific situation.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF DEALING. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE FROM VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY INFORMATION OR CONTENT AVAILABLE THROUGH THE SERVICE. ANY DECISIONS YOU MAKE BASED ON THE SERVICE ARE MADE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

11. Limitation of liability

In plain English: If something goes wrong, our liability is capped at what you paid us. Standard contract language.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL REAL ESTATE EXPLAINED, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the limitations above may not apply to you in full. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Termination

In plain English: You can stop using the Service whenever. We can terminate access if you violate the Terms or if we discontinue the product.

You may stop using the Service at any time. To request deletion of your account, contact us through the contact page.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if (a) you materially violate these Terms, (b) your account is involved in fraud, abuse, or unlawful activity, or (c) we discontinue the Service. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will provide reasonable advance notice to active students and, where commercially reasonable, make the course materials available for download.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, and 14) will survive.

13. Indemnification

In plain English: If your actions get us sued (you broke the Terms or the law), you cover the cost.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Real Estate Explained and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with (a) your access to or use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any third-party right (including intellectual property rights), or (d) any investment, business, or financial decision you make based on the Service.

14. Governing law and dispute resolution

In plain English: U.S. law applies. We try to resolve disputes informally first.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the jurisdiction in which Real Estate Explained operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in accordance with applicable U.S. law.

Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us through the contact page and try to resolve the issue informally. We will respond in good faith.

15. Changes to these Terms

In plain English: We can update these Terms. We'll show the new date at the top. If we change anything material, we'll let you know.

We may modify these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If we make material changes, we will notify active students by email and post a notice on the site. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Miscellaneous

In plain English: Standard wrap-up. If one section is unenforceable, the rest still apply. These Terms are the whole agreement.

These Terms (together with our Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between you and Real Estate Explained regarding the Service. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

17. Contact

In plain English: Questions about the Terms? Reach out.

For questions about these Terms or the Service, please reach us through the contact page.
